Bio
Matthew Heim is a native of Rochester Hills, Michigan. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music in Music Technology with a focus in Percussion at Capital University, located in Columbus, Ohio. Formerly, he was employed as an assistant recording engineer at Sound-Wave Music & Arts in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where he also served as customer sales representative. Presently, Matt has his own recording studio in his house, Red Root Productions. He works with a diverse clientele, recording and producing their materials. In particular, he frequently performs with and produces Singer-Songwriter Olivia Millerschin. Matt also plays drum set in multiple musical productions around his hometown, and enjoys collaborating with many artists, whether it is in studio or on the stage.
In 2014, Matthew appeared on Season 9 of America's Got Talent as a percussionist in the music group "Livy, Matt, & Sammy." They made it all the way to the top 48, and performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
While studying at Capital University, Matthew has performed with the Capital University Wind Symphony (Percussion, Timpani), Symphonic Winds, Concert Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and MIDI band.
Recently, he had the exciting opportunity to record one of the best solo percussionists in the world, Colin Currie. He was able to do this utilizing his mobile recording rig that is able to go anywhere to record bands or events.
